For your convenience, we’ve created this checklist to help you in your preparation. Click here to download this as a PDF.

  1. Choose a topic that will allow you to maximize the use of your video. It could be an overview of who you are and what you do, or it might be an overview of an important problem you solve and your approach.
  2. You will need to write a script. This is something we help our clients do, so please ask for our help. We recommend using our “SPINS” framework:
    • Situation: What is the big-picture situation creating the problem?
      • Example: Smartphones, streaming video, and social media have changed our habits and preferences for consuming information.
    • Problem: What is the problem?
      • Example: This change impacts your customers and your marketing. Few customers, if any, want to read long, text-based documents. They’d rather watch a 90-second video.
    • Implications: What bad things happen if the problem goes unresolved?
      • Example: If you ignore this trend, your clients and prospects will tune you out and your more forward-thinking competitor will move in. Your business will suffer.
    • Needs: What does your client need to solve or avoid the problem?
      • Example: The time has come for video to be a mainstay of your marketing strategy. Don’t put this off any longer!
    • Solution: What is your solution?
      • Example: We have a proven approach for helping experts like you to create professional, impactful video to support their business. We help you deliver your message clearly and succinctly to make an impact with your audience. Best of all, our process is quick and easy, and extremely affordable.
  1. You will need to be brief. A 90s to 2minute video translates into approximately 250 words.
  2. Avoid using several long words in sequence because they are usually difficult to pronounce. Also, avoid long sentences.
  3. Once you have a draft of your script, read the script and record the audio. If there are any words or lines that are difficult to read, then edit them.
  4. Email me your script (priolo@jkresearch.com) or let me know if you have any problems. I am always here to help.
  5. For the shoot, we recommend to wear solid colors or very subtle patterns. A dark jacket and white shirt are a safe choice. We shoot from the waist up, so you can wear casual pants and shoes. Also, remember to bring makeup and hair products if necessary.
  6. Our studio is located at 18N Main St. in Ambler PA. Although we are right downtown, you can park on Walnut Street for free. We are also just minutes from the train station in case that’s easier for you. Please call me if you need any help for any reason. I can be reached by phone or text at 267.265.7150.
